The Mario Video Game Has Made Its Name Known
There are not many people, who have not heard about a Mario video game, more commonly known as Super Mario brothers. It seems like only yesterday, that people were excitedly playing the first ever Mario video game on their complex Nintendo systems. It seems as if Mario video games have always stood the test of time, and continue to attract more fans than any other games on the market.
Excluding such consoles as the Game Boy Advance and Virtual Console sales, the Mario video game (Super Mario), is stated to be the second best selling video game of all time. The game has sold over 40.24 million copies worldwide, and is still presently selling today.
The Nintendo Company owes a lot of their success to this fun, and fantasy filled game. Children, as well as many adults have grown up with the Mario characters. Their smug little faces and their imaginary land were created in 1985, which to some children who actively play new renditions of the game may seem pretty alarming.
The Mario video game puts the player in control of Mario, a smug little mustached man, who is always anxiously searching for a way to rescue his fair beauty Princess Peach. You begin the game in a series of different lands. However, your main objective will consistently stay the same. You are to rummage your way through the Mushroom Kingdom in an attempt to rescue the princess, and completely eliminate Bowser’s magical powers.
The Super Mario game is a great family treat. Such game systems as the Nintendo, Nintendo64, NES, and the most current system the Nintendo Wii all showcase the action packed Mario video game. What would Nintendo be, if they didn’t have these little Italian characters on the screen?
There are a plethora of Mario video games that are available, many of which have continued to stick to the same guidelines. Although, over the years a number of characters have been added to the game. With adding new characters it brings into the game more battles, and of course more obstacles for the little Mario character to have to face.
The brand new addition to the Mario video game family is Super Mario Galaxy for the Nintendo Wii console. The Nintendo Wii console has been getting a lot of attention for the games that they offer. All of the Nintendo Wii video games are set in a virtual reality setting.
What we mean by virtual reality, is you actually engage in playing the game as if you were a part of it. There are still basic controls and commands that you must follow, like with other game consoles. However, you also get to act out everything you see on the screen.
In the case of the brand new Mario video game, you will have the opportunity to run, jump, as well as battle. The Nintendo Wii puts you into the game. This could be a reason why this system is consistently beating out all its competitors. Now, you don’t only get a chance to play the Mario video game, you can actually become Mario!
