Released in 2005, Switch was a very popular single that was released from Will Smith’s ‘Lost and Found’ album, which was certified gold in 2006. ‘Switch’ was the second single from the album, and enjoyed widespread airplay immediately upon release.
In addition to a large market release of the Will Smith’s “Switch”, Interscope Records also introduced a major release music video to help promote sales of the single and the album. The single became popular in R&B and Disco dance clubs across America, within a couple of weeks of its release.
Not long after the single had been released in the United States, Will Smith’s ‘Switch’ single was already enjoying major club play at dance venues all across Europe. Will Smith a huge star in Europe, as well as in America, helped promote the single with interviews and performance of the song ‘Switch’, which were aired in Europe.
Will Smith’s “Switch” was slow to catch on in Asia; however, about 4 months after the initial release of the single, the song was starting to receive major airplay from radio stations all over the continent. Within a few weeks, the song had become one of the most popular dance club songs, and a frequent request among nightclub patrons.
